Professor Dr Nasir Haji Darman

Chief Technology Officer,

Group Research and Technology, Project Delivery & Technology Division, 

PETRONAS


Nasir Haji Darman is currently the Chief Technology Officer of Group Research and Technology, Project Delivery & Technology Division, PETRONAS. In this position, he steers and drives all technology activities in PETRONAS Group wide. He joined PETRONAS in 1991 and has worked in many technical and managerial positions. He started his career as a Research Engineer in PETRONAS before moving on to resume various positions in various OPUs in PETRONAS. In his current position, he leads all technology projects and setting technology direction for PETRONAS activities, both in domestic and international assets. He also holds an honorary professorship from Institute of Petroleum Engineering Heriot-Watt University Edinburgh United Kingdom and Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS as part of his contribution to the society.

He has published many technical papers in local and international journal especially in the area of sub-surface engineering. He is also the recipient the SPE 2010 Asia Pacific Regional Technical Award on Reservoir Description and Dynamics. He is currently the SPE Asia Pacific Regional Director and sits in the SPE Board of Directors.

Nasir Haji Darman graduated in BSc from Texas Tech University and PhD from Heriot Watt University, both in Petroleum Engineering, in 1990 and 2000 respectively.


Rachel Calvert

Director, Upstream Transformation, 

IHS Markit Upstream Energy

Keynote Title:

Transforming Upstream for the Low-Carbon Future


Rachel is Director of IHS Markit Upstream Energy’s Upstream Transformation service, based in Singapore. She leads the global team responsible for developing insights that enable upstream stakeholders to navigate change during the energy transition and reduce greenhouse gas emissions from their core oil and gas operations. Rachel brings over 10 years of experience in policy, regulatory and risk analysis; global benchmarking; and Asia Pacific, having worked across the region.

Rachel has designed and delivered numerous complex projects for a range of upstream oil and gas clients, including upstream and climate regulatory benchmarking, helping a Southeast Asian government design its new energy policy, new venture opportunity screening and comparative government take analysis.

Prior to joining IHS Markit, Rachel led the Singapore Branch and Asia Division of Exclusive Analysis (now IHS Markit), overseeing numerous risk projects for clients in a wide range of sectors. Rachel holds a Master of Arts in Political Science from Johns Hopkins University, United States.



Dr Andrew Davies

Chief Geoscience Advisor,

Halliburton Landmark


Keynote Title: Hydrocarbons, Geoscience and the Energy Transition



Andrew Davies is a Chief Geoscience Advisor at Halliburton Landmark, where his main role is to help develop the next generation of geoscience applications for improving subsurface understanding.

Previously he held various positions at Neftex, including Head of Innovation, acting as part of the Neftex leadership team, and Senior Research and Development Geoscientist.

He has published numerous academic papers and has served on a range of advisory panels. Andrew is a senior visiting research fellow at the University of Leeds, UK, and holds a PhD from the University of Southampton, UK.
