EAGE/BVG/FKPE Joint Workshop on Borehole Geophysics and Geothermal Energy

22 November 2019 |  Munich, Germany

Organizers

The European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers (EAGE) is a global professional, not-for-profit association for geoscientists and engineers with approximately 19,000 members worldwide. It provides a global network of commercial and academic professionals to all members. The association is truly multi-disciplinary and international in form and pursuits.

All members of EAGE are professionally involved in (or studying) geophysics, petroleum exploration, geology, reservoir engineering, mining and mineral exploration, civil engineering, tunneling and environmental matters. EAGE operates two divisions: the Oil & Gas Geoscience Division and the Near Surface Geoscience Division.

EAGE organizes the following activities for its members:

  • Events (conferences, exhibitions, workshops)
  • Publications (journals, books)
  • Educational Programs (short courses, webinars, lectures)
  • Student Programs

For an overview of all upcoming EAGE events please visit our Calendar of Events.

The German Geothermal Association (BVG), established in 1991, represents companies and individual members. It advocates the use of all existing geothermal technologies ranging from shallow to deep, and from cooling to heating, and the production of electricity.

Every year in autumn, the German Geothermal Association (BVG) is hosting one of the most important events of the branch. The multi-day event, “Der Geothermiekongress” (DGK), offers a great variety of workshops and forums about deep and shallow geothermal energy. Visitors have the exclusive chance to create business contacts and exchange their knowledge with experts from the industry, economy and politics. Companies and scientific institutions present their latest developments and research results. More information can be found here.

The Expert Council for Physics of the Earth e.V. (FKPE) is an association of the heads of geophysical research institutions in Germany and the neighboring German-speaking countries. The FKPE comprises the institutes of the universities (or departments of larger institutes for geosciences), non-university research institutions, a Federal Institute and users from the industry.

The Working Group Borehole Geophysics and Rock Physics provides a platform for borehole geophysicists and rock physicists from industry and research. Through meetings and workshops organized annually by the working group, experts can exchange views on new developments and results and participate in new initiatives.
