Dr. Abdussalam Aziz (moderator)

Petroleum Geologist, NOC Libya

Petroleum Geologist with Experienced Management and Technical roles for more than 35 years in oil and gas industry with local and IOC’s (NOC / Zallaf Libya/ExxonMobil / Repsol / Akakus /Arab Gulf / Rompetrol) on different projects and continents. More than 15 years management experience to build strategic vision and technical team, plan and follow all level of operations and administration. My experience on exploration / development / production, conventional and unconventional hydrocarbon sources, carbonate and clastic reservoirs. Perform the open and cased-hole log programs and interpretation, coring plan, core description and data interpretation, build petrophysical / geological models, well completion. Initiate /support completion / drilling program and operations, deviate or horizontal drilling. Teaching experience's in Tripoli universities and technical short courses.

Dr. Mohamed Mresah 

Freelance Geosciences Consultant

Mohamed Mresah is currently a free-lance consultant in geosciences. He obtained his bachelor degree in geology from the State University of New York at Buffalo, USA. His research into the Paleocene carbonates of Northeast Sirt basin, led to a PhD degree from the University of Reading, UK in 1992. Further training programs led to a Diploma in reservoir engineering management from IFP, France. His work experience included exploration at Waha Oil company, later after joining Totalenergies, his work was more focused on field development, initially on Totalenegies fields worldwide, later on concentrated on Libyan fields (e.g. Mabruk, Al Jurf, Dahra, Garian …). He has published a number of papers on carbonate sedimentology, dolomite and dolomitization models as well as reservoir geology and reservoir engineering. His career included exploration geologist, senior petroleum geologist, manager of geology and geophysics as well as general manager of geosciences (covering reservoir engineering, geology and geophysics).

Dr. Ibrahim Youssef Mriheel

Geological Studies Superintendent, NOC Libya

Currently, Dr. Ibrahim Mriheel is working as geological studies superintendent for National Oil Corporation, Libya. He worked as consultant geologist for Petrobras Oil Company between year 2006 and 2012 both in Libya and Turkey.Mriheel has received his BSc. in Geology from Tripoli University, Libya in 1983. He has obtained his MSc and PhD from Manchester University, UK in 1989 and 2000 respectively. He has more than 35 years of experience in oil industry and authored and coauthored many published papers in international journals and conferences. His fields of interests are sedimentology, sequence stratigraphy and basin analysis. Dr. Mriheel has taught sequence stratigraphy and Basin Analysis subjects both as MSc courses & seminars to petroleum professionals in Libya and Tunisia.

Dr. Khalifa Mohamed Abdunaser

Technical Advisor, NOC Libya

In 2012 he completed his PhD (Structural Geology and Remote Sensing): Department of Earth Sciences, Durham University, United Kingdom. In 1992 he completed his Master’s (Use of Remote Sensing in Geological Applications) University of Dundee, United Kingdom. in 1985 he completed his Bachelor’s degree in Geology from the University of Tripoli (formerly Al-Fateh University), Faculty of Science, Department of Geology, Tripoli, Libya. In 2019 until now, his position is technical advisor at the National Oil Corporation From 1986 to 2019 Position he was a  Researcher at the Petroleum Research Center Practical experience. He has led and participated in many projects and studies related to the oil industry and the environment and has many papers published in international scientific journals.  He has many scientific papers published in reputable scientific journals
