Dr. Mohamed Moustafa 

Assistant Professor and Postgraduate Coordinator, Sultan Qaboos University

Dr. Mohamed Salem Hamadi Moustafa is an Assistant Professor in the Earth Sciences Department at Sultan Qaboos University, Oman. He earned his Ph.D. in Geology from Texas University, USA, in 2015, specializing in Sequence Stratigraphy, Diagenesis, and Stable Isotope Chemostratigraphy of the Middle-Late Triassic Al Aziziyah Formation in NW Libya Jifarah Basin. Before this, he obtained an MSc. in Geology from the Academy of Graduate Studies, Libya, and a BSc. in Geology from Sebha University, Libya. Before joining Sultan Qaboos University, Dr. Moustafa served as a Lecturer at Sebha University, Libya, and as a Teacher Assistant in the same department. With seven years of teaching experience at Sultan Qaboos University, he has supervised numerous undergraduate and postgraduate projects and evaluated doctoral theses. Dr. Moustafa research has garnered six grants, illustrating his expertise as a Principal Investigator and Co-Principal Investigator. He has published extensively in international journals and presented his findings at 19 conferences, demonstrating his commitment to scholarly dissemination. He has actively engaged in academia, contributed to various departmental and college committees, and facilitated knowledge-sharing through short courses.

PROF. Saad M. El-Shari

Professor, University of Benghazi

Prof. Saad M. El-Shari. is a professor in the Earth Sciences Department- Faculty of Sciences- Benghazi University. He completed his PhD in Seismic Stratigraphy and Basin Analysis, Department of Geology and Geophysics, Edinburgh University. He was the Head of the Earth Sciences Department, Academy of Post-graduation Studies, Al-Bayda Branch. From 2019 to 2021, He was the Head of the Earth Sciences Department, Faculty of Science, University of Benghazi. In 2007 he was a Consulting Exploration Geophysicist in Geophysical Dept., RWE, Triploi, Libya. From 2000 to 2009 , he was a Senior seismic stratigrapher and Basin Analyst in Geophysical Dept., Arabian Gulf Oil Company, Benghazi, Libya.

Dr. Ibrahim Elkanouni

Technical Advisor, Exploration Research Department, Petroleum Research Center Libya

Ibrahim Elkanouni is a Technical Advisor of Exploration Research Department at Petroleum Research Centre (PRC). He has got an MSc degree from University of Manchester (2000) and PhD from Durham University, UK (2014). He is specialist in sedimentology and sequence stratigraphy. His interests are in carbonates, their deposition, diagenesis and reservoir potential and has studied carbonates from Paleozoic, Mesozoic and Cenozoic successions in Libyan sedimentary basins, in onshore and offshore regions. Dr. Ibrahim has supervised Sedimentology Research Group at Petroleum Research Centre (2002-2009). He has been teaching at Geology Department, University of Tripoli since 2002. Currently he is a project manager of a national project titled “Revision and update the stratigraphic nomenclature of Sedimentary Basins of Libya, Phase One: Sirt Basin”
