About Kuala Lumpur

Kuala Lumpur (KL) is the capital of Malaysia. Over 8 million people live within the greater KL area which is clearly noticeable by the huge and vast amounts of traffic that goes into the city every morning, and slowly leaves the city in the evening. Kuala Lumpur has many interesting attractions; like Merdeka Square, Chinatown, PETRONAS Twin Towers and much more. KL is also known as a shoppers paradise as there are numerous huge shopping malls. 

Climate
Kuala Lumpur’s climate is tropical and humid with a mix of warm sunny days and occasional rain storms. August through November are the wettest months generally with average temperatures around 30ºC.

Electricity
Power: 220 – 240 AC/DC Voltage. Several different plugs and sockets are in use, but two pin flat (US type) or round (European type) are universal. Adapters can be obtained at the hotel or purchased at local stores.

Malay is the national language, but English is generally spoken.

The national monetary unit is Malaysian Ringgit (MYR). Foreign currency can be exchanged at the airport, local banks and hotels.
