First EAGE Workshop on Surface Logging

12-14 November 2025 | Paris, France

First EAGE Workshop on Surface Logging

Surface logging plays a pivotal role in modern well construction, providing real-time data that enhances operational safety, efficiency, and decision-making. Though historically underutilised, surface logging is gaining increasing attention due to advancements in digitalisation, cross-disciplinary collaboration, and the drive for a more sustainable energy future. This workshop will delve into the latest innovations in surface logging technologies and their expanding applications, illustrating how these tools can be leveraged to improve subsurface understanding, optimize well operations and reduce operational risks.

Participants will explore how surface logging integrates geological, petrophysical, and drilling data to improve well placement, optimize reservoir and overburden evaluation, and enhance hazard detection. The workshop will also highlight surface logging’s growing relevance in the context of energy transition, including applications in unconventional resources, geothermal wells, and emerging gas exploration like hydrogen and helium.

The aim of the workshop is to expand the utilisation of surface logging in the energy industry. Through a thorough review of recent technical advances, the workshop will highlight new applications of the technology in a cross-disciplinary context and showcase the business value it generates. The workshop will demonstrate groundbreaking technologies, emphasising their potential to accelerate broad adoption across the industry.

This workshop is designed for geoscientists, drilling engineers, mud loggers, reservoir engineers, production engineers, and other professionals involved in well planning and execution. Attendees will gain both theoretical knowledge and practical skills, equipping them to navigate the evolving landscape of surface logging. The knowledge acquired will empower participants to better understand the subsurface, optimize well operations, improve safety standards, and enhance overall well performance.
