The Seismic Inversion Conference is making its return after the resounding success of the 2024 edition in Naples, Italy.
We invite you to join us once more for an engaging and informative gathering, all set against the picturesque backdrop of Lisbon. As the capital of Portugal and built on seven hills along the Tagus River, Lisbon has been a crossroads of cultures for centuries. Its neighbourhoods, from the historic Alfama to the elegant Baixa, showcase a mix of Moorish alleys, grand squares, and tiled façades. Today, Lisbon is also a hub for science, technology, and culture, making it an inspiring host city for our conference.
Portugal is a member of the Schengen Area, which means that travellers from many countries (which are part of the Schengen Area) can enter without a visa to attend the conference.
Participants not falling within this category would need to apply for a visa. For the most up-to-date information, attendees should always check with the Portuguese embassy or consulate in their country of residence before making travel arrangements. We strongly encourage attendees who need a visa to begin the application process well in advance, as processing times may vary.
If needed, you may request a formal conference invitation letter during the registration process for the conference. If it is needed earlier, kindly contact us at registration@eage.org.
Lisbon is compact and easy to navigate. The metro is the fastest way to move across the city, while trams and buses connect key neighbourhoods. For scenic travel, hop on the iconic yellow Tram 28, or use suburban trains to reach Cascais or Sintra. Taxis, Uber, and Bolt are widely available, while the Viva Viagem card offers a convenient way to use the metro, buses, and trams with a single ticket.
