Fourth EAGE Workshop on Unconventional Resources

01-02 December 2022, Bogotá, Colombia

MEET THE INVITED SPEAKERS

Kevin Mullen

Schlumberger

Is the Principal Production Stimulation Engineer (PSE) for the Digital & Integration Division at Schlumberger. He is an expert in Reservoir Stimulation & Hydraulic Fracture Simulation. He is based in Houston, Texas, and currently serves as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Stimulation on the Technical Evaluation Team for Schlumberger’s Asset Performance Solutions (APS) business line.

Kevin has 22 years of experience in the oil & gas industry, all with Schlumberger, starting as fresh out of college, with a degree in chemical engineering.  He has traveled extensively for his job, working three-quarters of his career internationally (he is originally from the USA), living in very diverse and widespread regions, including Russia, the Middle East, and North and South America.  Likewise, he has tackled a wide variety of basins and reservoir types, from tight gas to mid-perm oil to unconventional nano-Darcy shales, and currently supports stimulation operations globally covering the full spectrum.

Kevin’s positions over the years have included operations and sales but have focused mainly on technical leadership for his region or projects of assignment.  His most recent roles have placed him in integrated projects where he contributes his stimulation expertise to collaborative teams comprised of experts across all technical domains tasked with delivering the best-producing wells for his clients, partners, and Schlumberger’s own legacy-SPM field assets.

Deepak Devegowda

University of Oklahoma

Is a Professor of Petroleum Engineering at the University of Oklahoma. His current research is focused on defining quantifiable limits on hydrogen and carbon-dioxide storage in the subsurface. His research interests also include unconventional reservoir modeling, enhanced oil recovery, and subsurface applications of machine learning. His work in unconventional reservoirs and subsurface gas storage and sequestration uses molecular dynamics simulations that reveal nanoscale phenomena that cannot be observed directly and are funded by both federal grants and industry. He holds an MS and Ph.D. degree in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University.
