Field Trip

Description:

The field trip will take the participants to the Carpathians foothills. We will visit on of major hydrocarbon prolific regions of central Europe, which has been in focus of many geology studies for almost 150 years. Generations of geologist deciphering the complex fold-an-thrust geometries, reconstructing depositional environments and studying salt tectonics. This is the place where the salt diapir term was described and published first - by MrazecL., in 1907. The field trip will focus on the role of salt, the structure generation and seal integrity of hydrocarbon producing reservoirs.
