Dr. Dinh Nguyen

Dr Nguyen Dinh is the Head of Hydrogen and Principal in Vietnam & Ireland of Offshore Wind Consultants (OWC) - a company of the AqualisBraermar LOC (ABL) Group, a global consultancy in energy and marine. Prior to that, he was the Principal Investigator of R&D projects in offshore wind to hydrogen, offshore power cables and substructures, and floating wind pilot at the UCC MaREI National Centre for Energy, Climate and Marine, Ireland. Nguyen has been a Senior Research Fellow – the highest research title and managing a multi-disciplinary research team and experts from 10 companies from 6 countries for the development of the national offshore wind energy blueprint in Ireland 2020 – 2050 that utilises the concepts of Marine Spatial Planning where relevant. He has been an advisor for several companies in Ireland, UK, Norway and The Netherlands. He was a senior engineer at Wood Plc and developed modelling tools for offshore wind and wave energy, risers and 3-D seabed. Before that, he was a Marie-Curie experienced researcher and developed new controllers and coupled models for offshore wind and wave turbines at Trinity College Dublin, and new models for time-frequency and stochastic analysis of structures under nonstationary spatially-varying earthquake excitations at PLAXIS BV.

Nguyen received a Ph.D. from the Asian Institute of Technology in 2009. His PhD outcome won the Mitsui-Sumitomo Insurance Welfare Foundation Research Award (Japan). He was then lecturing at Konkuk University in South Korea prior to moving to Europe. He is a member of the Association of Vietnamese Scientists and Experts (AVSE Global), a co-ordinator of the International Scientific Committee at the Second Vietnam Symposium on Advances in Offshore Engineering (VSOE 2022). He has also provided support for national offshore wind energy development in Vietnam since 2015 including resource and infrastructure assessment, zoning, and training. Dr. Nguyen Huu Luong

Dr. Nguyen Huu Luong is a Senior Expert of Vietnam Petroleum Institute – a subsidiary of Petrovietnam. He got his PhD in Chemical Engineering at the University of Bath, UK, in 2005. After his thirteen-year career as a lecturer at Ho Chi Minh City, University of Technology, Vietnam, he decided it was time to get closer in oil and gas industry. He has worked at VPI since 2009 and started his career as an advisor of biofuels projects. Currently, he is in charge of deployment of VPI’s long-term R&D programs. He has been working in the areas of biofuels, petroleum refining and petrochemicals for more than ten years and involved in many projects in Vietnam, including feedstock for RFCC unit at Dung Quat Refinery, E5 and E10 blending for Dung Quat Refinery, pre-FS on FCC catalyst plant construction in Vietnam, technology development for bio-oil production from biomass, bio-oil as an alternative feedstock for FCC unit, methanol production from CO2, CO2-rich natural gas processing, etc.

Dr. Guillaume Sauvin

Guillaume Sauvin studied geophysics at the Ecole et Observatoire des Sciences de la Terre (EOST) in Strasbourg, France, and received a Ph.D. in near-surface geophysics from the University of Oslo, Norway, in 2014. Following his graduation, he joined the Norwegian Geotechnical Institute (NGI) in Oslo, Norway, where he currently works as a Senior Geophysicist. Guillaume's main interest is in the integration of geophysical, geological, and geotechnical information into data-driven quantitative ground models, with particular application to offshore renewable projects. To this end, Guillaume applies his skillsets in seismic data inversion and explores the possibility of complementing the models with novel methods, such as machine-learning. Guillaume is also involved in various consultancy and research projects, ranging from caprock integrity monitoring for CCS to elastic wave modelling at laboratory scale for fracture characterization.

Jeroen Godtschalk

Mr Godtschalk holds a MSc degree in Geophysics from the University of Utrecht in the Netherlands. He started his career as geotechnical engineer in the oil and gas industry, where he was responsible for the design and installation of multiple (mooring) designs for floating and fixed offshore structures worldwide. He also specified the survey parameters for numerous geotechnical and geophysical surveys. For these surveys he managed the whole scope from tender to attending as Client Representative. Following this, his career lead to various commercial, technical and managerial positions in the oil & gas industry. In 2011 he joined a world renowned offshore installation contractor, where he was mainly involved in operations of one the company’s assets. He than later returned to the civil engineering when Mr Godtschalk became production director of a dredging and sand mining company in The Netherlands. Mr Godtschalk eventually joined BLIX Consultancy in 2019 as a Sr Consultant / Project Manager Site Investigations. He has been involved mainly in Dutch offshore site investigation work (both geophysical and geotechnical) for the Dutch Government plans to establish 10 GW offshore wind by 2030. Besides that he is also involved in other on- and offshore projects that relates to civil and geotechnical work worldwide for BLIX. Mr Godtschalk is also co-creator and teacher for a course on Site Selection and Permitting that is being taught to newcomers to the offshore wind industry.

Dr. Bui Viet Dung
