ECMOR XVII

14-17 September 2020 |  Online Event

Coronavirus Update                                  08 June 2020

Upon consultation with various stakeholders, EAGE has decided to host the upcoming ECMOR XVII conference fully-online in September. The move was taken to minimize certain risks associated with organizing the event in the current conditions.

For over three decades, ECMOR has served as a critical forum for advancing applied mathematics and engineering in the industry. We believe that this important scientific gathering is even more relevant today given the difficult challenges ahead.

We are positive that the ability for the mainly international delegates to attend virtually will serve to increase the participation of colleagues who would find it otherwise difficult or uncomfortable to travel at this time.

Our goal will be to provide the same quality of interaction and scientific discussion as you have come to expect, albeit in a more digital environment.

Please note: This announcement does not have any bearing on any other EAGE related events. The status of each event is determined on an individual basis in line with local recommendations. If you are attending, or planning to attend an event with EAGE, please consult the specific event website for the most up-to-date information and guidelines. EAGE would like to make clear that we are carefully monitoring the possible impact of any further spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) on all our events scheduled for the coming weeks. Our first priority is the health and welfare of the membership. Local organizers at all our venues around the world are co-operating closely with the appropriate health authorities to ensure that members are not put at risk.

So far we have had no cause to cancel any event on our calendar, but all intending participants at upcoming meetings should be assured that we will issue immediate notice if advised that a particular conference, workshop, etc. is no longer appropriate in the current environment.

In the meantime we would suggest that members follow current assessments of the impact of the Coronavirus as indicated by the World Health Organization (WHO) on its website. If travelling, immigration advisories issued by individual countries should also be checked.
