The 8th EAGE Arabian Plate Core Workshop will focus on the stratigraphic interval covering the Early Jurassic Aalenian to the Early Cretaceous Barremian. One of the key highlights of this workshop is the core display session scheduled for each day of the workshop. Representative cores have been selected to reflect a rich variety of facies and facies associations of the focused stratigraphic formations in the Southern, Central, and Northern Arabian Plate. 

These cores were made available to the workshop by respective national oil companies. Additionally, shallow cores from the outcrops at the Tuwaiq Mountain Escarpment in the central Arabia are will be available at this workshop by King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST).The cores from the Southern Arabian Plate represent typical facies and basin fills of carbonate platform, and intrashelf basins, spanning the age of Callovian, Oxfordian, Kimmeridgian, Tithonian and Berriasian.
