Fifth EAGE Marine Acquisition Workshop

Overview

The Fifth EAGE Marine Acquisition Workshop in Oslo will convene leading geoscientists, engineers, and industry innovators to explore the evolving landscape of marine seismic acquisition. Building on the momentum of previous editions and insights from the EAGE Annuals, this workshop will focus on emerging technologies such as AI-driven acquisition design, real-time QC, the optimization of acquisition strategies, and the role of marine geophysics in supporting the energy transition.

Workshop Aim

The workshop aims to provide a comprehensive platform for sharing the latest advances in marine seismic acquisition, spanning source and sensor technologies, innovative survey geometries, and operational strategies. Participants will explore recent case studies and lessons learned across a broad spectrum of applications—from traditional hydrocarbon exploration and 4D reservoir monitoring to energy transition priorities such as high-resolution near-surface imaging for offshore wind, CCS site characterization and monitoring, marine mineral exploration, and subsurface investigations for nuclear waste storage. The workshop will foster cross-disciplinary dialogue to shape the future of marine acquisition in a rapidly evolving energy landscape.
