The development of Hydrogen (H) and “Carbon Capture, Sequestration, and Utilisation” (CCSU) industries will be a critical element of any sustainable energy strategy designed to deliver desired outcomes that do no harm the people, the community, or the environment. An understanding of lessons learned, critical technologies, resources availability and needs, business models, regulatory and legislative requirements, and the choices that will need to be made to ensure economic and social growth, significant inward investment in manufacturing and production, and the long-term environmental and social impact of each decision needed to build local solutions to global challenge, is required.
The First EAGE Workshop on Hydrogen & Carbon Capture Sequestration in Latin America will be a venue for presenting and discussing experience and knowledge to and with the attendees to develop an understanding of what has been done, what will be needed, what choices have to be made, the risks, the uncertainties, and the costs of bad decisions. Most important, the workshop will facilitate building personal networks to create efficient learning curves.
