Second EAGE Conference & Exhibition on Guyana - Suriname Basin

9-11 September 2025 |  Georgetown, Guyana

Second EAGE Conference & Exhibition on Guyana - Suriname Basin:

Advancing Knowledge and Collaboration on Mature and Emerging Petroleum Systems!

Building on the success of the inaugural event, the second edition of this conference will focus on the latest discoveries in the Guyana-Suriname Basin, recent learnings, bid rounds, future exploration campaigns, and its competitive landscape. With over 18 billion barrels of oil equivalent (boe), the Guyana-Suriname Basin is one of the most important and youngest basins worldwide. A decade after the Liza discovery, the Guyana-Suriname Basin remains one of the most interesting areas for exploration today. This meeting aims to underscore the world class discoveries in the Guyana-Suriname Basin and the future of exploration and production (E&P). We open the invitation to stakeholders across E&P and service companies, governments, and academia. Through focused discussions and knowledge-sharing sessions, participants will explore updated results, technological advancements, and prospects for the region.

We look forward to discussing learnings for the last decade, innovations, and new technologies. We welcome submissions and conversations from different regions, particularly, from analogs, such as the ones in the western African margin. This conference will discuss the complex and diverse depositional systems discovered in the south Atlantic Margin, e.g., contourites, turbidities, and mixed depositional systems, which are crucial for advancing exploration and development efforts.

The idea is to make this conference as technical as possible with minor commercial discussions. This second edition will feature an engaging single-track format over three days, including technical presentations, poster discussions, and thematic workshops. We invite presenters to submit abstracts summarizing their proposed contributions to help the technical committee to design a robust and relevant agenda which will address the key challenges and opportunities in this evolving and successful basin.

Who should attend?

The conference intends to offer new insights into the subsurface of the Guyanese offshore, and to provide first-hand experience from successful operators and other vendors in the area. We aim to bring together oil & gas industry experts, professionals and academia interested in deep-water petroleum systems.

We invite geoscientists  and engineers who want to learn about, and to share, the latest developments in the Guyanese deep-water offshore discoveries of the past few years. We hope to offer a series of technical presentations as well as an exciting knowledge sharing and discussion  platform to provide an interactive and integrated learning environment with opportunities to network through panel discussions and technical presentations.
