Second EAGE Conference on Near Surface and Mineral Exploration in Latin America
3-4 November 2022 |Bogotá, Colombia
Xcalibur
Is graduated from the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa in 2006 with a Geophysics (Hons) degree. Initially he worked in the deep Gold mines of South Africa analysing mining induced seismicity, and working with rock engineers to ensure safe underground mining conditions. He then moved to a Platinum exploration project in the Bushveld Igneous Complex planning drillholes, logging core and managing exploration data. Finally, he moved to airborne geophysics with Fugro / CGG / Xcalibur where he has held various roles focussing on geophysical data processing & interpretation as well as business development. At Xcalibur he helps mineral, oil & gas, and government explorers design airborne geophysical programs to answer their exploration questions.

OptiSeis Solutions Ltd
Is P.Geoph., is the President and CEO of OptiSeis Solutions Ltd., which she founded in 2011. OptiSeis provides innovative acquisition solutions for acquiring high resolution seismic data both through consulting services and geophysical acquisition software. Andrea’s previous experience includes seismic processing and geophysical operations at Shell Canada, where she worked on many high-resolution and experimental seismic acquisition projects, and geophysical consulting at Boyd PetroSearch/RPS for both mining and oil & gas seismic programs. At OptiSeis, she oversees seismic acquisition design projects and software development, and is also the lead on EcoSeis, a collaborative research project that aims to reduce the environmental impact of acquiring seismic data.
Andrea is an instructor for the SEG and the CSEG Doodletrain, and an active contributor in the field of geophysics. She received a Best Paper award at the 2019 GeoConvention and was awarded the 2019 CSEG Technical Achievement Award for her outstanding technical contributions in the field of Canadian Geophysics. Andrea also on the Clean Resource Innovation Network Board of Directors.
Abitibi Geophysics
Received her master’s degree in Earth Science from UQAM and since then she has applied her knowledge in the mineral exploration industry. She joined Abitibi Geophysics in 2017 as a project geophysicist. In this role, she has managed more than 60 projects within Canada, USA, and Kazakhstan.
