COVID-19 Travel & Entry Requirements


To make attending the Second EAGE Workshop on Advanced Seismic Solutions in the Gulf of Mexico in Mexico City as easy as possible, we compiled an overview of things you need to know before and during your travel.

Traveling to Mexico: 

International travel to Mexico is permitted. There are currently no requirements in place, such as quarantine or health testing.

Other restrictions

Foreign travelers may be required to show proof of an outbound flight, a booked accommodation, or a letter of invitation from a Mexican resident, as well as proof of sufficient funds to cover the intended stay in Mexico. We recommend contacting a local Embassy in order to obtain further information.

Other medical measures

All passengers are subject to health screening on arrivals, such as temperature checks and visual assessment. Further health testing may be required for those displaying symptoms of COVID-19.

Use of masks: 

  1. Face masks are required on public transportation.

  2. Public transportation is operating as usual.

  3. Restaurants are open with reduced capacity to allow for social distancing.

  4. Bars are open with reduced capacity to allow for social distancing.

  5. Nightclubs are open with reduced capacity to allow for social distancing.

  6. Shops are open with adapted safety measures in places, such as the use of hand sanitizer and social distancing.
