Second EAGE Marine Acquisition Workshop

25-26 August 2020 |  Oslo, Norway

Information about the coronavirus (COVID-19), travel and the situation in Oslo

Residents of EEA/Schengen countries with acceptable levels of infection can travel to Norway

The Government of Norway has decided that from 15th June 2020, there would be exemptions from quarantine duty for travel in the Nordic countries. From 15th July, exemption would also be given upon arrival in Norway from areas in EU/EEA/Schengen with sufficiently low transmission. These areas are marked in yellow in the map below and will be updated every 14 days.

If you arrive in Norway from a "yellow" area, you are exempt from quarantine. If you arrive in Norway from a "red" area, you need to be in quarantine. If you arrive in Norway from a "grey/red" area, quarantine is also mandatory.

The map shows the areas with quarantine duty that apply for travellers arriving in Norway from 15th August 2020.

The map shows the areas affected by quarantine upon arrival in Norway from the 15th August 2020. The Government's advice is to avoid all non-essential travel abroad. Red colour = high transmission and quarantine is required upon arrival in Norway. Yellow = increased risk but quarantine not required upon arrival in Norway. Striped areas = not evaluated or insufficient data about transmission , quarantine is required. Illustration: Norwegian Institute of Public Health

If you arrive in Norway from:

  • a "yellow area", you are exempt from quarantine.
  • a "red area", quarantine is mandatory.
  • a "striped area", quarantine is also mandatory. Striped areas are not evaluated or there are insufficient data about the infection burden. You must go into quarantine if you arrive in Norway from one of these areas.

The areas that are exempt from quarantine duty may change rapidly and the overview will be updated every 14 days, at least.

EAGE continues to carefully monitor the possible impact of any further spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) on the Second EAGE Workshop on Marine Acquisition scheduled for 25-27 August 2020. Our first priority is the health and welfare of the membership. We are cooperating closely with VisitOSLO  and are following the guidelines set by the Norwegian Institute of Public Health to ensure that members are not put at risk.

The Norwegian Institute of Public Health has given approval for events up to 200 persons starting 15 June 2020. We look forward to hosting the event in a safe and comfortable environment, but assure that we will issue immediate notice if advised that the workshop is no longer appropriate in the current environment.

We are working on enhanced measures to ensure a safe and successful event. Possibilities are also being explored for streaming segments of the event via our new virtual events platform.

In the meantime we would suggest that members follow current assessments of the impact of the Coronavirus as indicated by the World Health Organization (WHO) on its website. If travelling, immigration advisories issued by individual countries should also be checked.
