PETER BARRETT

Product Champion for Wireline Images, Halliburton, USA

Peter graduated with a Batchelor of Science in Mathematics, Modelling and Computing from KingstonUniversity in London. He has over 30 years of experience working with image logs around the world, inGeoscience, Software Development and SME roles at both service companies and independent consultancies. Peter has seen changes, challenges overcome and advances in all aspects of the acquisition and use of image logs yet feels there is still a lot more still to come. Peter has co-authored numerous papers and has pushed hard on data quality and data integration initiatives and still enjoys coding to test ideas.

Josselin Kherroubi

Head of the Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (AI Lab), SLB, France

Josselin Kherroubi is currently the head of the artificial intelligence laboratory (AI Lab) at the SLB technology center in Clamart. The AI Lab promotes the acceleration and adoption of AI for SLB's activities. Josselin obtained a master's degree in 2002 from École Centrale Paris, with a specialization in applied mathematics. He also holds a master's degree in Mathematics-Vision-Learning (MVA) from ENS Paris Saclay (formerly Cachan). Since joining SLB in Clamart in 2006, he has worked on automatic image analysis, stochastic modeling (Petrel software), signal processing, and dielectric measurement inversion. He also led a team developing advanced image analysis modules (Techlog software). In addition to his current role, he serves as a scientific advisor for SLB on all topics related to AI and algorithms. Josselin has always been actively involved in external collaborations with universities and research centers (teaching, publications, patents).

LAWRENCE BOURKE

Executive Chairman, Task Fronterra Geoscience

Lawrence studied Applied Geology and Physical Geography at University of Strathclyde Glasgow. He has completed a Masters in Sedimentology and its applications at the University of Reading in 1979.

Lawrence is a sedimentologist with Palaeoservices in 1979 as well as a field development geologist with Sun Oil 1983-1985.  He joined SLB as an Applications Development geologist in 1985 working on the Geochemical logging tool, then the MST/FMS/OBDT.  Lawrence also worked with the greats of dipmeter interpretation and dip processing while at SLB.  He formed a consultancy group within SLB in 1990 specialling in borehole image interpretation.

He bought into Z&S in 1991 and expanding their consultancy business in the UKCS and Internationally.  The Z&S Group which covered Europe, the Americas, Asia Pacific was sold to Western Atlas (Now Baker Atlas) in 1998 and worked as Europe Africa Geoscience manager at Baker until 2001.

Lawrence then formed Task Geoscience in 2001 and acquired Fronterra in 2003. The merger has created the largest independent geoscience company specialising in the use of borehole imaging and core integration, which allows it to improve clients’ understanding of oil and gas reservoirs through analysis of the well bore geology. Task Fronterra has a global footprint, with offices across the Americas, Europe, Middle East and Asia Pacific. The combined business benefits from the knowledge of more than 80 of the most experienced geoscientists in the field over a 40-year period.  Many of the key staff at Task have worked together since the early 80s!

Lawrence has presented over 100 BHI and Dipmeter courses since 1986
