About IOR+ 2025

The world is embarking on a journey of energy transition which will lead the world to the exclusive use of sustainable resources. Experts’ opinions vary on how long this journey will take but one thing remains clear: hydrocarbon will remain an important part of the energy mix during this transition.

What is also clear is that the first impact on our industry will be felt by exploration and that the importance of mature fields will grow as the transition progresses. In this context, the world will come to depend more and more on IOR/EOR methods to ensure adequate production levels.

The conference will cover some familiar as well as some emerging topics. More than ever, pilots and field experience are essential in proving in the field the concepts and progresses in fundamental science and understanding of the IOR mechanisms, while reservoir modelling remains a key part of the process to achieve good recovery together with good economics.

The conference will also cover gas and condensate recovery which will become a larger part of the energy mix. Carbonate reservoirs which contain a significant part of the remaining resources will also be covered, together with methods that can reduce CO2 emissions. Other themes such as geothermal energy and hydrogen storage which have a lot of technical overlap with hydrocarbon recovery will also be specifically tackled.

The conference will feature keynote talks on key topics from industry experts. More than an update on the latest developments of IOR/EOR in our industry, it will provide a networking and brainstorming opportunity for engineers, academics, scientists, and students and offer a vision of the future of IOR/EOR in a changing world.
