Australian Society of Exploration Geophysicists(ASEG)







The ASEG is a non-profit company founded in 1970. Its aims to:

·  to promote the science of geophysics, and specifically exploration geophysics, throughout Australia.

·  to foster fellowship and co-operation between geophysicists.

·  to encourage closer understanding and co-operation with other earth scientists.

·  to assist in design and teaching of courses in geophysics and to sponsor student sections where appropriate.

The ASEG's main activities are the publication of the technical journal Exploration Geophysics, the bi-monthly magazine Preview ,occasional Special Publications and and holds regular technical events hosted by our branches. The ASEG organises a Geophysical Conference and Exhibition every 18 months.  The ASEG also conducts continuing education courses and supports Research in exploration geophysics.


Chinese Geophysical Society (CGS)




Chinese Geophysical Society (CGS) is one of the largest society in China. In August 1947, CGS was founded in Shanghai and based on nine primary subjects, Geodesy, Seismology, Meteorology, Geomagnetism, Geoelectricity, Volcanology, Hydrology, Tectonophysics and Applied geophysics.

After more than 76 year’s development, CGS plays an important role in national economic development, such as in energy exploration, resource reconnaissance, minerals production, environmental detection and protection, disaster prevention and control, and engineering construction. At present, CGS is supported by about 2000 units (include institute, university, government and company). CGS has more than 25000 registered members, has 30 academic committees include Solid Geophysics, Exploration Geophysics, Geophysical Technology, Marine Geophysics, Fluid Earth Sciences, Engineering Geophysics, Natural Disaster Prediction, Geo-Electromagnetics, Environmental Geophysics, Information Techniques, China Continental Dynamics, Geothermic Resources, Geomagnetism and Agronomy, National Safety Geophysics, Near Surface Geophysics, Space Weather, Mine Safety and Geophysics, Geothermal, Petrophysics, Oil and Gas Geophysics, Planetary Physics, Well Hole Geophysics, Structural Physical Chemistry, Metal Mineral Exploration, Smart pipe Network, Geodetic Survey and Remote Sensing,  Nuclear Geophysics, Aerial & Aerospace geophysics, Intelligent Geophysics. CGS has five publication including Chinese Journal of Geophysics (Acta Geophysica Sinica), Earth & Planetary Physics (English),Applied Geophysics (English), Progress in Geophysics.


Korean Society of Earth & Exploration Geophysicists (KSEG)




KSEG (Korean Society of Earth & Exploration Geophysicists) is a non-profit organization established in 2007. It covers a wide range of geophysical activities from pure geophysical studies to exploration or engineering geophysics. It publishes the quarterly journal “ Geophysics and Geophysical Exploration”. It also organizes local Conferences in spring and fall and provides continuing education courses.
