Dr. Wang Gonghui

Dr. Wang is a full professor at Disaster Prevention Research Institute, Kyoto University. After getting his PhD at Kyoto University in 2000, he conducted research on landslides for about 30 years, from the approaches of geophysics, geotechnic, engineering geology, hydrology, geomorphology, and obtained fruitful research results, especially on the initiation and movement mechanisms of rapid long runout landslides under abnormal weather conditions and/or earthquakes. He has published more than 100 papers in international journals. He works as editors of several international journals, and now is the chair of JTC1 (joint technical committee on Natural slopes and Landslides) of FedIGS.

Dr. Binbin Mi

Dr. Binbin Mi received the B.S. and Ph.D. degrees in geophysics from the China University of Geosciences, Wuhan, China, in 2013 and 2018, respectively. He joined the School of Earth Sciences, Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China, in 2019, as a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow, where he is currently a Senior Scientist. His research interests include imaging and monitoring of the shallow subsurface using active and passive seismic data, with applications to solving environmental and engineering problems.
