Pre-record your video presentation
We ask all presenters to submit a pre-recorded video presentation by 31 October 2020 at 23:00 hrs (GMT+1). We will make all video presentations available one week (23-29 November 2020) prior to the conference to all registered participants to view only and these will be removed two weeks after the conference. How to record your video presentation? Watch this video for instructions
Your Virtual Presentation
The conference will be held fully online in our virtual portal. All presenters will receive login details to this portal to attend the full conference, as well as an invitation to join their specific session as a presenter.
For Oral Presenters: Please make sure to join the session you will present in 15 min before it starts, to meet the session chairs and familiarize yourself with the online system. You will be asked to give a 10 min highlight talk about your paper, followed by 5 min live Q&A. A group discussion with all speakers is scheduled at the end of each session.
For Poster Presenters: Please make sure to join your e-poster session 15 min before it starts. You will be asked to "welcome" virtual attendees to your poster while they wait in the "virtual queue". Each session runs for 60 minutes and you are expected to be present to talk to participants. You can take short breaks when you do not have anyone waiting in the "virtual queue" for your poster.
Technical Discussion
An integral part of a technical presentation is the technical discussion. The author should be prepared and able to discuss their paper with their peers in the audience. The discussion will be facilitated by the session chair.
If a speaker is not able to present their own paper, they may be represented by one of their co-authors. Again, to enable a meaningful technical discussion, the alternative speaker should be familiar with the presented work and its background. The speaker should inform the EAGE office before 1 November 2020 to indicate this.
If the alternate speaker is not familiar with the work and this becomes clear in the discussion, this could lead to rejection of future papers at EAGE events by both the original and the alternate speaker.
Industry Specialists Give you Some Useful Tips!

Six seasoned presenters shared their experience and advice on preparing presentations on how to capture and how to keep the audience’s attention and on what they have learned over the years. The videos address different questions and situations, so whatever your concern is, the answer is here. This teaser introduces all speakers with a short ‘soundbite’. We are delighted that they have shared their advice and experience with us in this new EAGE video series! For all other videos click on the link below.
