The O&G industry’s motto/goal is to explore and convert every drop of oil in the subsurface to resources. As such, it’s crucial to focus on exploring and developing carbonate reservoirs, which are significant contributors to global hydrocarbon reserves, we would like to focus on exploring and developing them. However, their exploration and development can be very challenging due to their heterogeneous nature, diagenesis, cementation, and variability in porosity and permeability. Moreover, with oil resources becoming increasingly difficult to discover, it is essential to maximize the recovery from existing mature fields to ensure production sustainability and meet growing energy demand. Therefore, its essential to address challenges of carbonates reservoirs by exploring the latest technology applications and tools needed to manage these complex reservoirs with greater efficiency and effectiveness.
The objective of this workshop is to address the opportunities & challenges associated with complex carbonate reservoirs. This includes frontier exploration for carbonate plays, reservoir characterization, production optimization, and management approaches that involve work processes, technology, and people. This workshop provides a forum for experts in the industry to share their knowledge, exchange ideas & experiences, collaborate on solutions, share best practices and lessons learned to meet the immediate and long term business needs and support the industry to improve recovery from these Carbonate reservoirs.
