Wathik Alaaraji

Business Development Manager, TGS

Wathik Alaaraji is a Business Development Manager at TGS based in the UAE. His current efforts at TGS are focused on the Middle East and Mediterranean regions and include improving seismic acquisition efficiency in both shallow and deep marine environments as well as the advancement of Near Surface Imaging and Full Waveform Inversion in the region. He received his B.Sc. in Earth Sciences from UCC in Cork, Ireland in 1999 before pursuing an M.Sc. in Petroleum Geoscience from Imperial College London in 2001, and an M.Sc. in Renewable Energy Systems Technology at Loughborough University in 2021.

john brittan

VP Geophysics for the Imaging & Technology Group, TGS

John is the VP Geophysics for the Imaging & Technology group at TGS. After a PhD and PostDoc at Imperial College, London utilizing FWI to image, amongst other things, the Chicxulub impact crater - John has held positions in at PGS, ION and TGS, both in R&D and data processing operations. As VP of Geophysics, he needs to understand all aspects of seismic signal processing, model building and imaging, and how this affects geophysical deliverables.

Khalid Obaid

Senior Specialist in Geophysics, ADNOC

Khalid Obaid is a Senior Specialist in Geophysics at ADNOC Upstream, where he has been leading the geophysical interpretation community and data governance initiatives since 2008. His work spans petroleum exploration, field development, digital transformation, and sustainability-driven projects. He holds a BSc from the Petroleum Institute and an MSc from Khalifa University. Khalid is an inventor with five registered patents and has authored over 20 technical publications presented at international conferences.

Faisal Al-Jenaibi

Reservoir Simulation Engineer Advisor, Rock Flow Dynamic Company (RFD)

Faisal, a BSc graduate in Chemical and Petroleum Engineering from Al-Ain University (1991), currently excels as a Reservoir Simulation Engineer Advisor at Rock Flow Dynamic Company (RFD). With an impressive 32-year tenure at ADNOC, he specialized in advanced simulation models tailored for oil and gas development. Faisal's expertise encompasses designing assessment processes, managing oil field projects, and producing technical reports for senior management. He actively leads subsurface studies of complex reservoirs, aligning geological models with empirical data, while fostering knowledge sharing through technical reviews and meetings. His contributions in technical and management settings have significantly optimized development plans and dynamic models, showcasing his commitment to implementing innovative technologies and workflows that mitigate risks in dynamic modeling.
