Antonio Gallego Mingo
Senior Exploration Geologist
CEPSA
I am a geologist because of a school science teacher in 7th grade. Obviously he was a geologist. He was a bit more than a teacher, he was able to transmit his passion for what he was doing. Now it is my turn.
I was born in Chile, grew up in Spain and went back to Chile where I became a geologist. I met a wonderful woman and we got married and we had five kids. As family we lived and worked in different countries in Latin America, Middle East and currently in Spain. For the last five years I have been team leader and my role has been focused in evaluating oil and gas prospects, but also developing, encouraging and challenging young geoscientist: women and men. Last year I received an invitation to participate in the EAGE-WGE Mentoring program. I decided to participate. Professional women around the world are looking for a space to be heard, and more importantly there is a lot to learn from them.
