First EAGE Workshop on Reservoir Management of Mature Fields

Welcome to the First EAGE Workshop on Reservoir Management of Mature Fields

4 - 6 April, 2022 | London, UK

Workshop Overview

The First EAGE Workshop on Reservoir Management of Mature Fields presents an opportunity to discuss and share experiences on managing mature fields with a particular focus on the North Sea.

An increasing majority of the world’s oil and gas fields are mature.  As incentives to explore for new resources are reduced and the emphasis on getting more from the resources we currently have increases, this trend is expected to continue.

The industry has a toolbox of options available to address mature field management, but the optimal application of these tools varies dramatically depending on the context.  For some assets, reservoir models and simulations assist but not necessarily in the form of large, complex and time-intensive studies.  For other assets, a return to traditional analytical techniques are often a better option, supported by careful interpretation of production and surveillance data.  In some cases, the application of new monitoring tools and new analytical techniques, particularly in the field of modern data analytics, allow positive shifts in both working efficiency and incremental resource recovery.

Aim

This workshop aims to bring together the cross-discipline community working and managing mature fields to compare techniques and assess whether their own workflows for managing fields are optimal or even appropriate. The purpose is to share technical and organisational experiences and to increase the knowledge base across the industry.

Participant's Profile

The event aims to attract all disciplines involved in optimising production in our mature fields, from geoscience through to reservoir, well and production engineering, data analytics and asset management.

The workshop will focus on the North Sea but will also address maturing fields in other geographical regions

We hope to share technical and organisational experiences and increase the knowledge base across the industry.

Technical Committee

This event is organized with the essential support of the technical committee members. The Technical Committee is composed of industry specialists within the event topic's area.
