The growing population and limited space are continuously challenging our needs and usage of energy, resources, agriculture, infrastructure, geo-engineering structures, and cultural heritage. The changing perception of the human role in the world and the environment poses growing demands for characterization and monitoring of the processes and conditions in the subsurface for a sustainable use and preservation. 

The Near Surface Geoscience Conference and Exhibition 2019 embraces these challenges and demands, and answers them with a multitude of imaging, characterization, and monitoring methods and techniques at different scales making use of the newest theoretical, laboratory, and field developments in geophysics and geotechnics, but also in computer power and algorithms.
