Schlumberger
Ran Bachrach is the Geophysics advisor for Schlumberger Gesolutions. He Received his PhD in Geophysics and Civil engineering (minor) in 1998. Ran worked as assistant professor in Michigan state university (1999-2002). He joined Schlumberger in 2003 where he was the manager of the technology group for seismic reservoir services and later for integrated solution. Ran has been also teaching at Tel Aviv university while still maintaining a scientific advisor position within Schlumberger’s R&E organization working on various aspects of inversion and earth model building. His research interests include seismic reservoir characterization, rock physics, data integration and assimilation techniques and various aspect of geophysical data analysis and subsurface properties estimation.

Paulo Johann is currently the Senior Petrobras Advisor, based in Rio de Janeiro. Paulo has more than 40 years of technical and managerial experience in the petroleum industry. He graduated with a degree in geology from UNISINOS University, RioGrande do Sul, Brazil and received his D.E.A. and Ph.D. degrees in reservoir geophysics from Paris VI University, France. His career has encompassed activities in geophysical acquisition, geophysical interpretation, and reservoir geophysics. Paulo is also a frequent lecturer at Brazilian universities. He became active in the BrazilianGeophysical Society (SBGf) where he has served in many positions including its vice-presidency. He has published and presented several technical papers at SEG, EAGE,SPE, OTC, and SBGf. Paulo was appointed the first Central & South America HonorarySEG Distinguished Lecturer. He also served SEG as Vice-President. He is an active member of EAGE, SEG, OTC and SPE.

Odd Kolbjørnsen received his PhD in mathematical statistics from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in 2002. He has since then worked with advanced analytics, Bayesian analysis and machine learning within the petroleum industry. Currently he works as Advisor in Data science at Lundin Energy, and holds a 20% position as an associate professor in statistics and data science at the university if Oslo.
