About the Workshop

The workshop aims to address the evolving demands of near-surface geosciences and engineering. It will focus on the application of advanced fiber optic sensing technologies in pivotal areas, including but not limited to geological engineering for infrastructure monitoring, environmental geology for studies such as permafrost, glaciers, and hydrogeological assessments, as well as dedicated sessions on marine applications. We are dedicated to creating an interdisciplinary platform that brings together geophysicists, marine scientists, geological engineers, and natural hazard specialists to exchange insights, innovations, and discuss challenges. The workshop will explore recent advancements, key applications, and technological drivers that are transforming the landscape of near-surface geosciences. We extend an invitation to industry practitioners, researchers, and all stakeholders interested in advancing near-surface geosciences through innovative fiber optic sensing technologies to join us in this endeavor.
