Workshop Description

The workshop will bring experts together to discuss new ideas, trends, and experiences covering all phases of an EOR project: research, planning, field implementation, and surveillance. A good number of EOR projects and evaluations have been performed in Europe, proving that EOR methods is gaining significant momentum globally. The workshop will offer new fundamental and practical insights into the EOR methods and provide first-hand experience from successful operators, service companies and academia. There is value to be unlocked in every aspect of an EOR project. 

The format is expected to include round table discussions starting with short presentations from the conveners, to then break out, in a Cabaret setup, to discuss topics, ideas and proposals. Whilst there are a number of EOR techniques available, three will be discussed based on their suitability and applicability in most European environments:

• Chemical EOR (polymer and surfactant): onshore and offshore
• Low salinity water flooding, and
• Miscible gas injection (either hydrocarbon or CO2) 

The roadmap for implementation shall be defined based on cost reduction/optimisation, requirements and sustainability.
