The sudden and rapid decline in the sustainability of the Groningen gas field attests to the power of stakeholders in the debate on the future of the Oil and Gas industry, particularly onshore Europe. Societal license to operate is an increasingly important 'non-technical risk'. Oil and gas companies, regulators, politicians and others need to be attuned to how best to manage existing and new investments in an increasingly skeptical world. The forum will debate the conflicting dilemmas, using Groningen and other case studies from Europe, with representatives from the diverse set of stakeholders.
